Nancy Thym is a famous folklorist, storyteller and harp researcher: She plays various harps and related stringed instruments, her repertoire ranging from early music to traditionals, folk and rock’n’roll.
At the NHM 2014 in Gjøvik, Nancy will give the following lecture on Friday afternoon:
“Strung out on metal, gut and nylon – pros and cons of different string materials. Historical and practical aspects of different stringing and the appropriate playing techniques”
If there will be enough participants, Nancy may also give a workshop on Sunday morning about “Blues and Rock ‘n Roll Riffs for harps with levers or without chromatic possibilities”
