Tone Hulbækmo

Tone Hulbækmo – her name is synonymous with the renaissance of the Norwegian harp, an instrument which was extinct until in the 1980s Sverre Jensen made a replica of an old museum instrument and Tone started to play it (and with it, she won Spelemannprisen, the highest music award in Norway, in 1983). She plays also the Kravik lyre, another enigmatic Norwegian instrument, and employs both instruments in the context of Norwegian folk music, early music and her own original songs.

At the Nordic Harp Meeting 2019, Tone gave a lecture about the Norwegian harp and lyre (click here fore a lecture description in English / på norsk).
