Elisabeth Kværne


Elisabeth Kværne is musician playing the Norwegian langeleik and leader of the Folk music archive in Valdres Folkemuseum. She plays traditional music from Valdres, the area where the old langeleik tradition has survived unbroken into recent times. She has also done research on “dansedokker” (dancing puppets) which have been used in connection with langeleik music: The dansedokke is attached by a thread to the musician’s finger holding the plectrum, and when the musician starts playing langleik, it starts to dance to the rhythm of the tune…
